Meliá Hotels International, a leading Spanish hotel group, has announced a major expansion of Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort alongside long-term partner and property developer Tanzanite International, reinforcing its commitment to Vietnam as a strategic growth market in Asia Pacific.

Building on the resort’s growing international recognition, including its inclusion in 2026 Travel+Leisure Top 500 list, the expansion will significantly enhance Meliá Ho Tram’s accommodation, wellness and lifestyle offering while further positioning Ho Tram as one of Vietnam’s leading upscale coastal destinations.
Anticipated to open in Quarter 3, 2028, the expansion located within the prestigious 5-star resort complex of Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort will introduce an additional 191 hotel suites and rooms to meet the rising demand for premium leisure and wellness travel experiences in southern Vietnam. The development will also feature five new swimming pools across 2,500 sqm, including a signature rooftop pool, alongside expanded wellness, fitness, and dining facilities to further elevate the resort experience. Beyond the increased inventory, the resort is continuing to evolve its leisure and wellness offerings to provide a more holistic destination experience for families, couples and multigenerational travelers. For Family & Youth Adventures, the resort provides Upgraded Kids Club (now open), Professional Football Pitch (June 2026) and Teen Outdoor Zone (coming soon) with a new, dedicated area specifically designed for young adults to engage in and relax.
Meanwhile, for The Wellness Inclusive Evolution (August 2026), Meliá Ho Tram’s spa offerings will introduce an authentic onsen experience alongside an exclusive Wellness Inclusive Package designed to support rest, mindfulness and active living. Experiences will include in-room wellness amenities such as yoga & fitness equipment, meditation set and aromatherapy; daily yoga, meditation, tai-chi, stretching and other wellness activities; nature-based excursions and locally inspired wellness experiences in Vung Tau and Cacao Park; hands-on workshops inspired by local ingredients; spa treatments, cabana beach spa therapies and nail & hair care services; Access to water rituals including onsen, sauna and steam bath; and forest bathing with a dedicated wellness pathway.

Rooted in Meliá’s Mediterranean-inspired approach to hospitality, the resort experience blends warm and intuitive service with a strong sense of place, creating meaningful connections between guests, local culture and the natural surroundings of Ho Tram.
As part of the broader development, the project will also introduce The Indochine Residences at Melia Ho Tram – an exclusive collection of two- and three-bedroom residences, duplexes and penthouses. The residences will offer investors the opportunity to participate in the resort’s growth through fully serviced, hotel-managed properties that combine private ownership with access to Meliá’s hospitality standards and rental program.
Mr. André P. Gerondeau, Chief Operating Officer (COO, Meliá Hotels International commented: “Vietnam continues to represent one of the most strategic growth markets for Meliá Hotels International in Asia Pacific, and Ho Tram is rapidly emerging as a premier leisure and lifestyle destination within the region.
“This expansion reflects our long-term confidence in both the destination and our partnership with Tanzanite International. Together, we are evolving Meliá Ho Tram beyond a traditional beachfront resort into a more holistic destination experience. The expansion will strengthen the resort’s positioning across premium leisure, wellness, gastronomy and exceptional hospitality.”
Mr. Nguyen Nam Son, Chairman, Tanzanite International added: “We are proud to continue our partnership with Meliá Hotels International as we invest in the long-term future of Ho Tram. This next chapter of development reflects our shared vision to create a world-class coastal destination that contributes meaningfully to the local economy and strengthens Ho Tram’s appeal among both domestic and international travelers.
“This project is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs during the construction phase and approximately 500 new operational roles for the local community once fully operational, supporting the continued growth of tourism and hospitality within the region.”

The timing of this expansion aligns with Ho Tram’s accelerating emergence on the international stage. With the development of the upcoming Long Thanh International Airport (66km) and ongoing improvements in regional infrastructure, the destination is poised to evolve into one of Vietnam’s key tourism hubs, attracting both domestic and international travelers seeking high-end coastal experiences within convenient reach of Ho Chi Minh City.
