Continuing its mission to preserve Vietnam’s cultural heritage amid the lush Vân Long Nature Reserve, Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh presents the exclusive exhibition “The Centennial Bliss”. This artistic and historical journey vividly recreates Vietnamese wedding customs over the past 100 years, from North to South.

The exhibition is a collaborative effort between Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh—designed in the spirit of a traditional Northern village—Đông Phong, a collective dedicated to researching and reconstructing Vietnamese garments from the 10th to the 20th century, and young artist Phổ Ngạn, known for his passion for classical Vietnamese art and his dedication to preserving traditional beauty through each brushstroke.
A Hundred-Year Wedding Chronicle: From Costumes to Ceremonies
“THE CENTENNIAL BLISS” invites visitors to step back in time and witness the splendor of traditional Vietnamese weddings through four distinct stages: the betrothal, the bridal procession, the wedding ceremony, and the celebration feast.
The exhibition presents a sweeping portrait of rituals, attire, and customs across social classes and regions—from the Northern delta, where the meticulous ‘tam thư lục lễ’—the three ceremonial letters and six formal wedding rites—was carefully observed, to the stately, intricate ceremonies of Central Vietnam, and the spirited, open-hearted traditions of the Southern riverlands.
Đông Phong showcases meticulously reconstructed ceremonial garments, crafted with faithful attention to fabrics, patterns, and silhouettes that reflect the aesthetics and social status of each era. Complementing these are Phổ Ngạn’s exclusive sketches and illustrations, created especially for Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh, capturing the sacred and joyous moments of a wedding day like a vivid, living chronicle in color.

An Artistic Space in the Heart of Vân Long
Set within the serene grounds of Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh, the exhibition unfolds amid lotus ponds, bamboo groves, and fruit gardens, evoking the charm of a century-old Vietnamese village in the romantic autumn air.
Throughout the exhibition period, guests can gain deeper insight into 100 years of Vietnamese wedding customs, learn the art of crafting the traditional cánh phượng betel quid, and experience natural dyeing workshops—immersing themselves in the process of creating fabrics steeped in the symbolism of love, fidelity, and blessings for lifelong happiness.
