Hotel Nikko Saigon has just introduced the OH Bear Project, called “Culture Art One Harmony”, one of the activities to celebrate the hotel’s 15th Anniversary. This project, in collaboration with Hoa Sen University – Faculty of Fine Arts Design, involves an art competition to create 15 OH bear sculptures provided by the hotel.

This event commemorates 15 years of development and embodies the spirit of Omotenashi – Japanese hospitality in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event opens a meaningful chapter in the 15-year journey of Hotel Nikko Saigon, celebrating the spirit of Omotenashi and the values that have shaped the hotel’s identity over time.

The friendly polar bear has been used as the hotel’s mascot since its opening, as bears always evoke a feeling of friendliness, warmth, and approachability. The hotel wants the adorable bear mascot to subtly convey a message of care and gratitude to both guests and staffs through various bear versions.

The heart of the OH Bear Project are the young artists who brought these bears to life. They are Hoa Sen university’s students and also Hotel Nikko Saigon’s staffs.

The competition has been launched in December 2025 and attracted more than 20 entries from talented young artists with their submitted sketches, each idea based on their personal interpretation of hospitality, culture exchange, and Saigon spirit. The hotel management selected 15 sketches passed the first round of the competition. Then, the artists hand-painted on the composite bears to create these truly unique bear sculptures.

With this event, the OH Bear Project is officially unveiled, marking the beginning of the hotel’s 15th anniversary celebration. Guests can explore the OH Bear artworks at hotel Lobby or visit the OH Bear landing page to learn more about each artistic bear and vote for the piece that inspires them most.
